Bend, Breathe, and Conceive
Bend, Breathe, and Conceive is taught by Anna Davis, PhD, RYT, neurophysiologist, science educator and certified yoga instructor. The 60-minute video of flow yoga practice includes a series of physical poses, yogic breathing techniques, visualizations and meditation practice, all designed to promote internal and physical balance which helps reduce tension and prevent the release of stress hormones that may adversely affect fertility. The program is adaptable to levels from beginner to advanced, and includes 10 minutes of guided relaxation.
“We wanted to provide trying-to-conceive women with an opportunity to proactively work towards conception in a way that that enhances their overall health and well-being,” said Kelly Andrews, founder and CEO of Fairhaven Health. “The benefits of yoga on stress reduction are well-established, and reducing anxiety about achieving pregnancy can actually increase chances of conception. Anyone wishing to conceive or struggling to conceive can benefit from this program.”
In the DVD’s introduction, Dr. Davis explains the physiology of fertility and how the body can benefit from this practice. She further teaches how daily anxieties and “fertility frustration” can trigger the release of stress hormones that disrupt a healthy reproductive system. With this program, trying-to-conceive women can build strength, increase flexibility, and learn to shift physiology away from stress and towards relaxation to promote reproductive wellness.
“Bend, Breathe, and Conceive offers a realistic and enjoyable method to incorporate a daily practice of stress reduction and whole body health,” said Dr. JE Ellington, CEO of ING Fertility and inventor of the Pre-Seed fertility aid. “Stress management techniques such as yoga, especially during the fertile part of the cycle, have been shown in several studies to lead to increased pregnancy rates, and a healthier intimate relationship for the couple.”
Dr. Anna Davis is a neurophysiologist (educated at Smith College and the University of Washington), a science educator and a certified yoga instructor. She was first introduced to yoga at age 15 by her mother and has practiced yoga for more than 25 years. Anna received her teacher training with master teachers Andrey Lappa and Baron Baptiste.

I wonder how this compares to Kama Sutra? The breathing exercises may be different but it seems like both concepts share a the goal of removing the mind from its daily stresses to increase focus on coitus, which should increase the likelihood of conception.

SageMother, LOL! You got me on that one though.
In all fairness, I think Kuma Sutra is more tintillating than watching a video. But, I’m not so sure it can help you conceive if you have health or stress problems
