You want flat abs but you just can’t get rid of your flabby belly. You’ve tried every stomach exercise imaginable. You may be physically active but without a sensible diet full of fruits and vegetables your belly will always be bigger than you want. If you want to flat and sexy abs, then you are going to need to make some diet changes.

Despite the facts showing otherwise, people still think they can get flat abs just by doing sit-ups and ab exercises. Little do they realize, your diet is what factors the most. Top 3 (of many) Things You Can Do Today to Lose Those lbs

No one was born over optimum weight, grew up longing to be over optimum weight, nor was pleased at achieving being over optimum weight as approaching adulthood (or sometime thereafter.) Never the less, approximately 127 million adults in the U.S. are overweight, 60 million obese, and 9 million severely obese (American Obesity Association 2005.) This isn’t healthy, doesn’t make anyone happy, and it is a situation called an “epidemic” by the Center for Disease Control. The good news is, in recent years 300,000 to 400,000 people died annually in the U.S. due to obesity related illnesses, now however, only 100,000 people die annually from obesity related illnesses (Center for Disease Control, 2007)–awesome! We’re making progress! No, folks aren’t getting in better shape, but the drugs to keep the overweight population alive have improved drastically! Thanks pharmaceutical industry! All right, what’s really been going on here?

For those people who wish to lose the unwanted fat around their abdominal area, or who are just trying to get rid of loosened skin due to multiple pregnancies, the tummy tuck or abdominoplasty might be the answer. The tummy tuck is a major operation that includes a tightening of the muscle area in the abdominal wall. As a result, the procedure can dramatically improve the overhanging abdomen. A tummy tuck is a major operation that requires an equally major decision, so it is important that you establish a good communicating relationship with your plastic surgeon prior to the procedure.

The Candidate

Anyone who is in good health might be a candidate for this procedure. If dieting and rigorous exercise leaves you with nothing but frustration, then abdominoplasty might do the job you wanted. Women who have had children lose the elasticity of their abdomen, and the tummy can sag. However, those persons who are planning on losing weight should not consider undergoing the procedure of tummy tucking until their weight is stable.

Guardian Unlimited, a UK newspaper, has reported that the mayor of Varallo Sesia, a small picturesque town in Italy, is offering cash incentives for its residents to shape up.

It seems that “stress”, “eating too fast” and the love for “junk food” has increased obesity in Italy by 9%, and with this bold move announced over the weekend, the response has been overwhelming. Residents armed with a doctor’s certificate stating they are overweight were lined up at city hall waiting to be weighed by the town’s appointed chemist in order to get into the program.

“Dieting needs strong motivation, and I am trying to muster some collective will here,” says Mayor Gianluca Buonanno, who is also planning on losing 6kg.
