It seems that leading professionals and journals on weight loss are on a one-sided street when it comes to caffeine carrying big neon signs that say “Caffeine Is Not Good For You”. They have vetoed against its use as a weight loss aid because it promotes water loss more than actual fat loss.
As part of my quest to further educated myself on weight loss strategies, I have become more aware of caffeine’s adverse effects on diets. I recently published an article on The Bikini Body Diet on Stuff That Makes You Feel Bloated. Here’s an excerpt: “Although caffeine plays a role in weight loss by stimulating the body as a whole and enhancing fat metabolism, caffeine’s effect on the body sometimes triggers factors that are associated with weight gain. For instance, caffeine intake induces stress and the production of cortisol that leads to the deposition of excess fat in the abdomen.”
My question is - if caffeine is really bad for you, why are diet supplement makers and pharmaceuticals use it as a main ingredient in their products?
Not only that, it is undesputable on my end, that this caffeine stuff (Xyience) that I’m taking is really kicking some serious energy during my workout. My stretch and lean on my reps are longer and I really feel that I have worked muscle groups that haven’t seen the light of day for some time.
If I feel this good, it can’t be all that bad? Can it?
Finally I stumbled on an article from the much reputed Mayo Clinic’s Ask A Weight Loss Specialist. “A few studies indicate that large amounts of caffeine - the equivalent of six cups of coffee a day - may slightly enhance weight loss in people who exercise and maintain a low-fat diet.”
As a person who actively works out at least five times a week with a very strict meal plan, this “slightly enhance” could definitely translate to “getting an extra edge” in my weight loss battle.

I think if you feel good, talk to your doctor to see if he has any concerns. If not, then take the supplement. I drink caffeine every day and I am not worried about it.
I’m not worried medically about the affects of caffeine to my body, but more so, about how it works with my current diet.
I’m just making sure that it doesn’t go against what I’m working so hard to achieve
Thanks for dropping by luvcamerasnic.
I am not too worried about caffeine. I drink caffeine free drinks about 90% of the day with the exception of tea.
That’s just it! I really do need my caffeine fix. Especially in the morning! It is so hard to start the day without a cup of coffee.
Believe me I have tried!
Caffeine isn’t something that I can have often, so I’m afraid this wouldn’t be a good choice for me at all.
Good question, though, about why it’s in a diet pill if it’s supposed to be so bad for us.
As usual, I tend to fly by the seat of my pants with things I enjoy.
I only cut back on caffeine when I start getting palpatations!
LOL
That would certainly be a good time to limit your caffeine, SageMother, yes.
So far the decaf is working fine with me, so I hope that continues.
